New cafe for Wellingborough Youths
A NEW youth café in Wellingborough is undergoing the final touches before opening its doors to young people for the first time.
Workers from the Wellingborough Youth Project have cleared out and cleaned up a former carpet storage unit, giving youths in the area aged between 11 and 18 a safe place to meet friends.
The café, which has not yet been officially named, will include a comfy chill area, internet terminals and games consoles following a refit costing almost £60,000.
Youth workers plan to hold three sessions every week on Wednesday and Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons.
An open day for young people, parents and potential adult volunteers will be held at the café on Monday, May 5, from 10am to 4pm.
