Making Choices in Years 8 and 9

Help with making your decisions

Remember, before you finally decide, it is important to discuss all the choices with:

  • your Connexions Choices Adviser;
  • your form tutor or personal tutor; and
  • your parents and carers.

They will all help you make the decision that is best for you.

Your institution will also support you through their careers programme (PSHE).

You can call our Freephone number on 0800 73 13 2 19 (choose option 1), or email us at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

The options you choose for Years 10 and 11 will affect how you spend your time at school for the next two years. The choices you make may also influence what course or job you decide to do after Year 11.

Which Way Now?

You are not alone in making these decisions; everyone in Years 8/9 are going through the same process.

Publications

Your school will be producing a booklet about the options you can choose from. The Connexions Fact File for Years 8 and 9 will also help:

There will also be events for you and your parents and carers to talk to teachers in more detail. Find out when this is!
