Work Experience

One thing that the majority of employers consider to be most useful of all is work experience, which is why many people such as parents, teachers and advisors will recommend to you that you try and get as much work experience as possible in your chosen career or areas that you are interested in. You need to be able to prove you can carry out the theory you've learnt on your course or at school.

Most schools in Northamptonshire offer a Work Experience placement in either year 10, 11 or 12 that is arranged through Connexions. After this you may consider a longer placement either during holidays or by taking a gap year. If you have a look at sites such as Hobson's Student Services (below) they will give you information into where to find and who to contact for placements. There is a lot of competition for placements so you will need to start planning where, when and for how long quite a bit in advance.
