Taxis
Remember these points if you are travelling by taxi:
- Try to avoid travelling alone.
- If you "flag down" a vehicle, make sure it is a licensed black cab (look for the Hackney carriage licence plate on the rear of the vehicle).
- Do not board an unmarked car - a legitimate mini-cab MUST be pre-booked (even if for an immediate journey) and the driver must have photographic ID linked to the company you called.
- If calling a taxi with your mobile phone, do not do it in an unsafe place.
- If travelling in a minicab, do not sit in the front with the driver.
- Do not get into the vehicle if you have any doubts!
