NVQ's (National Vocational Qualifications)

NVQs are work-related, competence-based qualifications that reflect the skills and knowledge needed to do a job effectively. They relate to a particular type of job such as Plastering, Accountancy Technician, Hairdressing or Engineering.

They are available at five levels (although not all subjects are available at all five levels) and are good for people who have a definite career aim, who like learning on the job and being assessed through observation, and who also want to work towards a portfolio of evidence.
