Faith and Religion
21st Century Britain is a diverse and exciting place to live. People of many different cultures live together here. You may be a Christian, a Muslim, a Hindu, a Sikh, a Jew or a Buddhist. You may be a Jain or a Baha'i or a Zoroastrian or a member of a different faith or maybe you don't follow any particular belief system. Whatever your background though, you can help to make the UK a place where respect, cooperation and trust exists between people of different faiths and beliefs.
Some religions have existed for thousands of years, whereas others are more recent. Since no religion can be proved nor disproved, it makes no sense to persecute people for their religious faith.
Believing strongly in your faith does not make you a "fanatic". It is a good time to speak up for the good aspects of your religion, share what you believe with friends, not by imposing what you believe on them but by explaining what's involved, what's important to you and what you like. Maybe involve your friends of different faiths in your festivals and celebrations.
